Public bug reported:
Seems similar to Bug #103050 except that I did not start with nvidia-
glx-new, but with nvidia-glx.
Simply put, if I use any setting other than vesa in xorg.conf, it dies.
By that I mean, Kubuntu 7.04 goes through the boot routine, flashes to
black screen then the Kubuntu startup screen with a black status bar,
then black screen with blinking cursor.
I have tried nvidia-glx, nvidia-glx-new, and the driver (NVIDIA-
Linux-x86-100.14.09-pkg1) from nvidia, I have lodged a bug report there
too.
The machine is currently out of action, so I do not have immediate
access to logs.
This is a new install on an ASUS F3S laptop, with used the Kubuntu
Alternative CD as there were issues with the desktop one.
