I never experienced this with 8.04, 8.10 or 9.04. As Ubuntu 7.10 will be

- The instability seems not to come every time, maybe it is triggered by some
additional event.
- After the bug appears, suspend-to-ram is no longer possible: Instead of
suspending, the notebook sits there unresponsive for ca. 30 seconds (only the
mouse moves),
