That's a skype issue, not a packaging one. Since skype is a proprietary
software, we have no control over it (except packaging the new upstream
releases). Your only hope is probably Skype Community's Linux forum.

i was using your skype version for quite some time today and came across some
problems just now.
it seems the scim plugin that im using to type chinese somehow jams the writing
fields of skype and also of aMSN thus making me unable to write anymore. to
problem however only doesn not spread to ot

i installed your file and i was able to start it so far, and was able to login,
but i havent tried any funktions yet, however i did not encounter any problems
yet.

i have installed scim to enable chinese pinyin input methods, i have
experienced various problems with scim before, e.g. not being able to
type characters in aMSN anymore until i restarted msn.
the static package gives similar output:
