Public bug reported: Multiple times now Ubuntu installation fails without any information when the fdisk table is full. I.E. no spare slots to create an extended partition. This has happened on multiple HP machines with WIndows 7 pre-loaded where a restore partition is present along with the normal NTFS for Windows 7 and another partition from the factory. The issue I am concerned about is that all versions of Ubuntu through 13.04 just hang and the user is left wondering what happened. I would like to see a proper check made for no fdisk partition available and a coherent message put up on the screen telling the user what has happened. Perhaps they need to install a second hard drive. In my case I used gpart to remove the restore partion since I had backup drives and then the installation went well. Again, it is the hang with no feedback to the user that I am concerned about.
