It works fine on quantal. It was actually part of the shipping Ubuntu kernels
until removed in 2.6.39 by Leann Ogasawara. I think it should be put back in.

Do you know if there have been any efforts to get this module submitted
and accepted into the mainline kernel? It is a lot of extra work for the
Ubuntu kernel team to maintain out of tree patches. As such they require
evidence of upstream submission before considering to maintain
I'm opened a new task against the actively developed kernel. However,
I'm closing the report against linux-source-2.6.20 as it does not meet
