That's because Google Earth does really depend on ia32-libs.
Application won't work without this dependency, theoretically there's a way
to isolate only the particular ia32-libs that are used by Google Earth. But
I'm afraid this would take too much time and effort.

ldd /usr/lib/googleearth/googleearth-bin | sed s/ =.*/$/g | xargs -n1
apt-file -x search | grep /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu | sed s/:.*/:i386/g
Gives a complete list of the packages used by Google Earth at install
time. Can you incorporate it into the packaging script? The only
difficulty

Andrian, even after installing the latest version of googleearth-package
from sid (http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/pool/contrib/g/googleearth-
package/googleearth-package_1.0.1_all.deb) in Ubuntu 13.10, the
resulting googleearth_6.0.3.2197+1.0-1_amd64.deb file still depends on
ia32 libs.

I tried installing Google Earth on Ubuntu Saucy 64-bit,
but it depends on ia32-libs which no longer exists.
The googleearth-package package in the saucy archive outputs a binary
package with a dependency on ia32-libs-multiarch. This is wrong, and
needs to be fixed in the google earth
