Thanks... I think they're too different scenarios, and I'm sorry I
confused you on this one.
That said, I will order a straighttalk SIM myself and explore this issue
in more depth when I get a chance.

After reading this I got the att rebranded straight talk sim to work
ala,

I'm ok with tony's synopsis -- you can't make this work out of the box
with mvno's, and in

There is no test package forthcoming.
Again, MVNOs require user intervention to make them work. This is why
they're cheap.

there's no way to edit the APN settings in ubuntu-system-settings, I've
been unable to escalate this, so it's doubtful it will be fixed before
13.10 is released.

read from the SIM card
