Public bug reported: I have a Kingston CF-card reader for PCMCIA.
When I use it, the computer is almost unusable. It is *very* slow. When I type something the letters appear on the screen several seconds later. Full dmesg *before* I insert the CF-card into the reader can be seen here: http://thomasdamgaard.dk/p/P629.html Full dmesg *after* I have inserted the CF-card and transfered some files from the CF-card and then ejected the card can be seen here: http://thomasdamgaard.dk/p/P630.html However, I think this is the important stuff: [ 541.268000] pccard: PCMCIA card inserted into slot 0 [ 541.268000] cs: memory probe 0xe8000000-0xefffffff: excluding 0xe8000000-0xefffffff [ 541.268000] cs: memory probe 0xc0200000-0xcfffffff: excluding 0xc0200000-0xc11fffff 0xc1a00000-0xc21fffff 0xc2a00000-0xc31fffff 0xc3a00000-0xcc1fffff 0xcca00000-0xcd1fffff 0xcda00000-0xce1fffff 0xcea00000-0xcf1fffff 0xcfa00000-0xd01fffff [ 541.272000] pcmcia: registering new device pcmcia0.0 [ 541.516000] ata3: PATA max PIO0 cmd 0x00014100 ctl 0x0001410e bmdma 0x00000000 irq 3 [ 541.516000] scsi2 : pata_pcmcia [ 541.672000] ata3.00: CFA: SanDisk SDCFH-2048, HDX 4.04, max PIO4 [ 541.672000] ata3.00: 4001760 sectors, multi 0: LBA [ 541.672000] ata3.00: configured for PIO0 [ 541.672000] scsi 2:0:0:0: Direct-Access ATA SanDisk SDCFH-20 HDX PQ: 0 ANSI: 5 [ 541.672000] SCSI device sdb: 4001760 512-byte hdwr sectors (2049 MB) [ 541.672000] sdb: Write Protect is off [ 541.672000] sdb: Mode Sense: 00 3a 00 00 [ 541.672000] SCSI device sdb: write cache: disabled, read cache: enabled, doesn't support DPO or FUA [ 541.672000] SCSI device sdb: 4001760 512-byte hdwr sectors (2049 MB) [ 541.672000] sdb: Write Protect is off [ 541.672000] sdb: Mode Sense: 00 3a 00 00 [ 541.672000] SCSI device sdb: write cache: disabled, read cache: enabled, doesn't support DPO or FUA [ 541.672000] sdb: sdb1 [ 541.676000] sd 2:0:0:0: Attached scsi removable disk sdb [ 541.680000] sd 2:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg2 type 0 [ 925.048000] pccard: card ejected from slot 0 [ 925.048000] ata3.00: disabled I have tried with several different CF-cards. Both Canon, Kingston and Sandisk. The CF-cards use vfat filesystem.
