I'd like to close this report. I think I'm having bizarre path problems
that are preventing the proper sensors file from being executed.

Yes it's AMD64 x2
I have the current kernel 2.6.20-16-generic #2 SMP x86_64 GNU/Linux
I have all the latest updates.
'sudo apt-get upgrade lm-sensors' does nothing
Do you mean that reporting it here isn't enough and that I have to
contact the package maintainer, or that the 'system' should do
Currently both version in i386 are:
sensors version 2.10.1 with libsensors version 2.10.1
So I assume you run 64bit ('uname -a' would tell us), if that is the case try
just 'sudo apt-get upgrade lm-sensors'
if nothing updates, then the build for 64bit should be upgraded, which should
be followed
