Title
The adding of acpi_backlight=vendor into grub boot option FIXED the
problem in my Dell Inspiron 15R. I'm using the 3.11.0-9-generic 64 bits
kernel.
Without the proposed fix, the only way I have found to turn brightness
to MAX was setting the config below as ROOT:
echo 4882
Could you please test the latest mainline kernel via
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.12-rc1-saucy/ and
advise on the results?
