not upgraded phablet-tools brick
With an old version of phablet-tools, the recovery.img was taken from a
specific file that was downloaded as seen in
https://code.launchpad.net/~sergiusens/phablet-
tools/recovery_from_system_images/+merge/183868
The protocol changed and phablet-tools did not manage that, when fixed
it was moved t
Christian, if you created the bug with ubuntu-bug instead of manually
the version would of been logged.
All I can do is mark this as fixed or invalid as you were using a
version where the bailing wasn't implemented and it s now. I can't fix
the past and this was fixed immediately but landing new p
It didn't abort for me or thostr. I used 1.0+13.10.20130904 with ubuntu-
system and one more time with channel=devel-proposed both leading to
boot being stuck at the Google logo. After I (unbricked and) upgraded to
phablet-tools 1.0+13.10.20130917 I was able to flash the latest image
again.
Unless
I agree with stgraber, but not finding recovery.img aborts the install
and leaves you with a non broken system.
Chistrian, this report has no logs, I have no idea why it failed, but if
a required asset is not found it indeed aborts.

So the old phablet-flash should have noticed that a file it was
expecting was now missing and should have aborted at that point (and I
believe it did on my machine).
The problem we had (and unfortunately still have) is that phablet-flash
is expecting some of the files to be named following a speci
There's an inherent race condition involved in saying "the latest" and I
was not automatically on the latest despite having automatic updates on
my system. If you keep suggesting that as a "solution" at the minimum
phablet-flash should abort if it's too old for the image it is trying to
use.

Can you attach the logs?
phablet-tools is always backwards compatible, the server side isn't so
you always need to be on the latest.
