It looks like this issue was fixed.

But I just installed dante-server on a relatively clean ubuntu 12.04
install and stumbled into this using the version mentioned in the above
as the fixed version. I hope it is not a user error, but I really
haven't done anything on this system yet; getting this problem out of
the box.
