Public bug reported: Just reinstalled Gutsy using the Tribe-2 desktop CD. The installation process is smooth except for the partman halting problem mentioned in the release notes.
Gutsy boot process halted at the following console error message: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Server Authorization directory (daemon/ServAuthDir) is set to /var/lib/gdm but is not owned by user 109 and group 116. Please correct the ownership or GDM configuration and restart GDM. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- After typing my username on a vritual console, I was greeted by a bunch of "configuration error" messages, such as: configuration error -unknow item 'yield' (notify administrator) configuration error - unknown item 'self._cur.epilogue' (notify administrator) ... ... I logged in after typing my password. I found that /var/lib/gdm is owned by 109:116(gdm:gdm). The problem is that the root file system is read- only. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Gutsy Tribe-2 boot failure https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/122943 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
