I experience the same error (it also causes display corruption to the
top bar in Gnome. It happens with the Vesa-driver under a VirtualBox
machine. I thought that might helpful information as it happens with the
GTK displayconfig manager. The problem did not exist in tribe 5.

could you please fill a separate bug about display corruptions. The bugs
don't seem to be in a relation.
I fixed the crash in the skip_vendor method. A new release will follow
soon.
