No it doesn't change to zero.
I've made some other tests:
For sound device management i've lunched pavucontrol.
Output Devices: Build-in Audio Analog Stereo there is 2 devices. Headphones
and Speakers.
1)If i mute Speakers all works as expected:
a) no speaker so
when the headphone in the middle (0x0f) is plugged
font headphone jack (0x0a) is unplugged but pulseaudio did not check
headphone surround jack
will pulseaudio mute/change the speaker volume to zero ?

the amp out at node 0x1e can be use as playback volume for the speaker
or mic jack if other amp-in except node 0s2b in node 0x1d are muted

post the output of alsa-info.sh when the speaker fail
you can use hda-Jack-sense-test to verify whether the node of the two
headphone are 0x0a and 0x0f

Yesterday i've installed latest alsa driver (ppa night build), but without luck
