The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.

I am unable to hear sound at all on linux but if i change over to
windows it works fine. I am new to linux but a friend of mine has been
using it for 7 years now and he has been unable to help me. I am using
feisty version and my sound card is HDA (Intel).Here is the sudo lspci

Actually I misspoke ... I did not edit or change my
~/.asoundrc.asoundconf. It apparently changed as a result of what I had
done elsewhere!!!

I almost forgot ... perhpas the most important change was to my
/etc/modules file (see below) the portion below the comment "#ALSA
portion" is new ...
# /etc/modules: kernel modules to load at boot time.

With much work I now have my sound working like it has (in Mandriva) in
the past. Sound still comes out of what is suppose to be the light blue
line in plug (according to the Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe user guide) instead
of the lime green line out. I get sound from both this plug and the gray
rear spea
