Public bug reported: I have seen a lot my Ubuntu worker servers peg the CPU at 100%, the solution is just to restart the daemon. I have investigated the issue and found out that is a known issue with version 1.7 and it can be solved by upgrading to 1.8: https://github.com/kr/beanstalkd/issues/144
Could we have an upgrade of the package so we can get beanstalkd 1.8 in Ubuntu 13.04? root@server:~# lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 13.04 Release: 13.04 root@server:~# apt-cache policy beanstalkd beanstalkd: Installed: 1.7-1ubuntu1 Candidate: 1.7-1ubuntu1 Version table: *** 1.7-1ubuntu1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ raring/universe amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: beanstalkd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1239478 Title: Beanstalkd 1.7 leaks fds resulting in 100% cpuload To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/beanstalkd/+bug/1239478/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
