I installed 13.10 not to long ago but I am running into problems the
latest one is that I can not install software from software-center

This is what it tells me when I try to install software

Software can't be installed or removed because the authentication
service is not available. (org.freedesktop.PolicyKit.Error.Failed:
('system-bus-name', {'name': ':1.75'}): org.debian.apt.install-or-
remove-packages
