Public bug reported:

(I'm a Linux newbie)

Here are the steps that built the crash scenario:

1 - I installed syslog-ng
2 - I replaced entire syslog-ng.conf content with settings to fit Cacti
(according to item 5 here:
http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?p=236540&sid=bbc3be4f14ddf6f484d30f613bc8fc46#p236540)
3 - When restarting syslog-ng, it produced errors saying that the conf file had
deprecated instructions
4 - I decided to restore the original .conf file by removing and installing
syslog-conf
5 - I noticed that the new installation didn't updated /etc/syslog-ng contents
(directory where syslog-ng file is)
6 - I manually removed /etc/syslog-ng directory
7 - I removed and reinstalled once more syslog-ng

It was this last installation that produced the error
