The problem occurs as a general rule during the first 30 minutes of use and
keeps happening across several following reboots and shutdown/power on cycles.

when compared to Ubuntu 13.04 and 13.10.
It is possible to use applications that normally trigger GPU lock-up
quickly like Movies (Totem) and Firefox without observing such an issue
although not extensively tested

Luis Mendes, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
