Public bug reported:

The text on buttons of logout window to too close to left edge in the
logout window (Shutdown, Reboot...).  It makes the app look bad.

I realize that this is partly a Gtk theme issue but if you change the
xthickness, it affects other things, among others the size of buttons on
some toolbars.

EASY SOLUTION:  Centering labels on buttons, as is most commonly done in
apps, would easily resolve the issue.
