Yes it is the internal Audio, Stereo numerical HDMI.
Audio device: AMD/ATI Device 9840
command alsamixer gives a non responsive panel but shows:
alsamixer v1.0.27.1
HD-Audio Generic
ATI R6xx HDMI
S/PDIF
powered by GStreamer
If need more, let me know the commands to use.

What USB sound card are you trying to use? Is it possible you're
referring to the onboard sound card or HDMI audio?
