Christopher, as far I can tell, I see this slow copy transfer rates
since Raring at least, but I didn't know then why was the cause for
that. Now it seems the bad detection of USB 2.0. But this could be
failing since 2007 if you read the comments of bug
Angel Guzman Maeso, it would be best not to conclude too much from
similar problem, different hardware, as they can have differing root
causes. Hence, for your hardware, and regression testing purposes, could
you please test for this in Lucid via http://old-
releases.ubuntu.com/releases/lucid/ and
