Jeremy reported his on 2014-07-20 (after first commenting here on
2014-05-08 with the same wording), I would say that his was a duplicate

I have this problem in Ubuntu 14.04.
Nautilus don't ask "Do you want to empty the trash" when I unmount an usb stick.
In Ubuntu 13.10 when I unmount a usb stick in nautilus it ask me if I
want to empty the trash.
