I've been using 304.x since 13.04 or mabye 12.10, don't remember.
Running 14.04 beta now brightness control stopped working even with 304.x
driver.
I've got Qaudro fx 1000m .
Tried latest 331.38 and still doesn't work .
For other people coming across this bug, I found an app that got brightness
It affects a non-essential hardware component (removable network card,
camera, web-cam, music player, sound card, power management feature,
printer...).
