I have what I assume is the same problem. This only happens on 2 of my 3
machines that run Ubuntu 13.10. Both of these use the Nvidia
proprientary driver. The one is a GTX 560 while the other is a GTX610M.
I've attached a picture of what it looks like when it freezes. The mouse
pointer sill moves b
I am afraid I cannot install testing version of Ubuntu to my main
system, since some other programs might not work with it and I should
use it intensively quite long (over a week). If you are sure the cause
of the problem is xorg and Ubuntu 14.04 will use Mir, probably it is not
wise to waste time

this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are

I have upgraded BIOS to F13 although it should only improve USB3.0
compatibilty. Lets wait for about a month for the problem to appear.

- proprietary drivers 'nvidia-319-updates'
