The content of the log is:

This just says The PostgreSQL server failed to start. Please check the
log output.; can you please attach /var/log/postgresql-9.1-main.log ?

I can't seem to reproduce the bug when installing postgresql in Ubuntu
12.04.3 LTS amd64. I am using the Quantal (3.5.0-44) kernal however.
