Found the root cause of my problems... I'm currently running two
installations of 11.04, one on my desktop PC, one on my netbook. Both
didn't notify me of updates, at least I thought so:
1.) On my desktop, update-notifier works correctly, but I didn't
understand the way the user is notified. In
I have the same problem, but with a fresh install of 11.04, using the
default Unity desktop. No update notifications. update-notifier is
running.
