Mark, that is not a bug, rather you are having a network problem. Please
change the server and try again another time. Note for future reference,

same problem in 9.04 beta (32bit)
based on the command on the Sessions preference.
$ update-notifier --startup-delay=60
/home/user/.gtkrc-2.0:2: error: scanner: unterminated string constant - e.g.

I also have this problem, running Xubuntu Gutsy RC. NetworkManager
automatically set up my wired connection. I've attached ls -l
/var/lib/apt/lists.
