I can't play WMA with crossfading enabled and that's absolutely
persistent.
1) Play a WMA file without crossfading enabled. It works, right?
2) Enable crossfading. Restart Rhythmbox.
3) Play a WMA file. Now it doesn't play, but other files work.
Can others confirm? Possibly re-open this bug and

i can't reproduce the error any longer, for after purging rhythmbox and
reinstalling it, it plays wma-files correctly. i don't know if this is
due to purging rhythmbox or if there has been an update. please could
anybody tell me how to mark this bug now?

Could you run rhythmbox -d and note if there is an error listed when

This works for me, I can play WMA just fine with Rhythmbox. Are you sure
you have gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg?

yes, i'm absolutely sure. i've tried it on my laptop as well. there it
played one single wma file, and after restarting rhythmbox it wouldn't
any more.

Are you trying to play a WMA3 file? Please attempt to play it from
mplayer -v and attach the log.
mplayer -v /home/user/Desktop/file/i-want-to-play.wma
I don't believe ffmpeg supports decoding WMA3.

as i wrote in my initial report, i can play it with totem, so ffmpeg is
correctly installed and supports decoding of the files i'm trying to play.
this is the output of mplayer -v:
