This is still reproducible in 9.04, with version 1:1.13.3-1ubuntu2 of
the mediawiki-math package.

I just ran into the same problem with the mediawiki-math package
(version 1:1.11.2-2) in 8.04. It would be nice if it were automatic, or
at least to have it documented. I can't check with 8.10 beta,
unfortunately.

I forgot to say that it isn't commented in the
/usr/share/doc/mediawiki1.7-math/README file. It must at least be
documented there i think.
