Public bug reported:

Trying to load gedit-latex-plugin in Gedit fails on Ubuntu 13.10,
because libpeas complains about the missing loader "python".

This seems to be caused by the fact that gedit-latex-plugin 3.4 (that is
included in saucy) uses python 2.x whilst gedit 3.8 (that also is
included in saucy) can only load python 3.x based plugins. Switching the
plugin to python3 is not a one-line fix, it seems (I tried but if failed
with another error) but backporting 3.8 from trusty fixes the issue.

This is because gedit-latex has been ported to python 3.x in the
meantime and works flawlessly with the current version in saucy. I would
say that simply uploading 3.8.0-1 to saucy shouldn't cause any
regression since the current status is that the plugin doesn't work _at
all_ and there is nothing that depends on the gedit-latex-plugin
package, so I would propose to use that as an easy fix.

** Affects: gedit-latex-plugin (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
