This card should work on Ubuntu 7.10 (gutsy) or later.
I don't think something can be done in feisty.
Feel free to file another bug if you are still affected in later versions.

This happens due to lack of support of the alsa shipped with the feisty kernel
for this card.
Gutsy Gibbon has the new alsa.
You can of course recompile the kernel or just the alsa-drivers.

Thanks for your bug report. Could you please add the output of 'lspci
-vvn' and 'dmesg' to it? BTW if you don't start a session and try to
reproduce a sound let's say with mpg123 or mplayer in a tty can you hear
something?
