Could you try to test this with gedit 2.30, as we reworked the file
loading and it could be fixed.

I reported the Issue upstream. You can track the status and make comments here:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=549959
** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #549959
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=549959
** Also affects: gedit via
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?i
not sure that opening that amonth of text in a graphical editor is
realistic anyway, should be sent to bugzilla.gnome.org since that's an
upstream issue and the ubuntu team doesn't have the ressources to work
on such changes now

Could not open the file /home/mjohansson
After closing Firefox and some other apps, I tried again and got the
same error about not having enough memory. Including cache and swap I
should have had enough byte-for-byte. I'm sure there is some overhead,
but an extra gig?
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls -la test2.sql
-rw-r--r-- 1 mjohansson mjoha
thank you for your bug report, could you try if that's still an issue on
hardy?
