I can confirm the workaround in comment #2 works for me.
Also, I have a hard time reproducing this. It seems to happen every now
and then but not when you try to reproduce it.
Anyway, I noticed something else. This also happened on the lock screen,
and when I logged in I noticed my login password

I have the same issue on 2 different installs.
Workaround: click the keyboard icon in the top right corner. Looks like the
keyboard needs 'activating'.
