I did a reboot with the tv set on and everything was working fine. But
then I turned off the tv set. It seems as if the gui hasn't noticed
that. I can drag windows out of the display screen to where the tv
screen is configured.

I removed the ati-driver and did a fresh install. After reboot the
driver was working well (Blur effect was on, for example). When I
plugged the TV screen into the card, resolution somehow messed up, but I
was able to start the Display Configuration in System Settings. I did
