It seems to get slower with some new update. Ever since i saw the new kernel and nvidia-glx package updated around 2-3 times updates ago I got a 6600GT as well. Also, I do notice that IF i leave my machine idle, absolutely doing nothing for a couple of hours and I come back and use it, it keeps
