Package Version in the above comment refers to accountsservice
version, not lightdm. I tried to change the package I'm reporting about
in the online form.
Frankly, I'm not sure whether lightdm, accountsservice or some third
package is an appropriate target.

Re-assigning to accountsservice as this is the service that lightdm
queries as to which users to show. Correct, we did change lightdm to
honour the SystemAccount flag which is what has caused this problem for
you.
