The image Justin uploaded is the one from when the app starts, which is
somehow OK. However, after you press any of the tabs on the left side,
the righ pane background turns transparent, which makes it close to
unusable.

Same here on a 14.04/64bit installation using the proprietary NVidia
graphics driver (in case that's related). The transparent background is
a mess. Perhaps unrelated, there is issues with the choice lists in some
buttons, too (truncated to the point of being totally uninformative).
