there the screensaver works without any obvious problems.

Both light
I have recently upgraded 2 systems from Xubuntu 18.04 to Xubuntu 20.04.
I was using XScreenSaver on both of them. The system upgrade
automatically installed or enabled Light-Locker, and then I could not
unlock the system anymore. The problem is described here:

No, you didn't get the point. ToZ does not want that the install
procedure forces light-locker/screensaver on the users by default,
thinking they could need it. There should be a way to select either of
them, both of them, or none of them at all.
