The latest ubuntu gutsy updates on 15 october 2007 (xserver-xorg-video-intel
2:2.1.1-0ubuntu8) seemed to have fixed the problems.

I have something very similar, I've only noticed it recently as a line in the
bottom left status bar area of any application with kernel 2.6.22-13, and as

for the xserver-xorg-video-intel driver in Gutsy the latest development
