flashplugin-nonfree 9.0.48.0.0ubuntu11 has been released with a fix for this Qt
bug. Both Konqueror and Opera should be able to play flash content. Please
upgrade your package. I'm closing this bug as Fixed Released, however, if you
still have problems with this particular bug, feel free to
I can confirm this. When Ubufox installs the flashplugin-nonfree, it
downloads a new package from the Adobe ftp, that seems to restore the
previous state of the plugin in Opera. (The previous state being that
the flash plugin crashes when closing or changing tabs, however it works
without freezing
fixed for me, installed flash with the ubufox plugin

i have found a workaround to the problem:
downgrade libgtk2.0-0 from the candidate 2.11.6-1ubuntu3 to
2.10.11-0ubuntu3, and restart Opera.
wget
http://ubuntu.dlf.ge/ubuntu/pool/main/g/gtk+2.0/libgtk2.0-0_2.10.11-0ubuntu3_i386.deb
sudo dpkg -i libgtk2.0-0_2.10.11-0ubuntu3_i386.deb
different
work around, but not a solution ;P

This bug is caused by an update of gtk, other distros and programs (like
konqueror and azureus)) are affected too, see:

I can also confirm. Could this be fixed with the gtk2 bug fix just
released?

Same here. I cannot use flash in Opera at all. When I open a webpage
with flash content the operapluginwrap process stays at high cpu usage
for some seconds and then disappears. The place of the flash content is
then all grey. This happens with the Opera version provided by the
commercial
I confirm, Opera with plugins turned on is unusable in Gutsy whernever I
open a page that has Flash (and most of the sites now have), while in
Feisty it works (albeit poorly but at least it doesn't maximixe CPU
usage).

Same issue here. Compared to my girlfriend who uses Feisty + Opera the
problem appears much more often on my Gutsy + Opera.

Confirm here, too.
Opera 9.23 with flashplugin-nonfree 9.0.48.0.0ubuntu8.
(process:6550): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **:
/build/buildd/glib2.0-2.13.7/gobject/gtype.c:2242: initialization
assertion failed, use IA__g_type_init() prior to this function

I can confirm this bug too, although flash content crashed very often
(when changing or closing tabs with flash content to be precise) with
feisty and previous opera builds too, this has gotten extremely annoying
now.

I can confirm this bug. It needs more attention, this is potentially
pretty serious! Any one out there have any information?
