The realtek driver in the rtlwifi_new repository appears to fix the
problem for me. I built the driver and installed it, and now have
apparently normal network connectivity.
git clone http://github.com/lwfinger/rtlwifi_new.git
cd rtlwifi_new
make
sudo modprobe -rv rtl8188ee
sudo make
[Expired for linux (Ubuntu) because there has been no activity for 60
days.]

Christopher, i was expecting an email about you answer, maybe I have to change
something in my profile.
Anyway. For me it works perfectly with the new kernel 3.13.0-29-generic.
