Great, thanks for testing and confirming that for me. I'm adding the
link to the upstream bug tracker to this report. There is not yet a fix
upstream.
The Octave GUI is still experimental at this point (which is why you
have to use --force-gui), thanks again for testing and reporting this
bug.

Those reports are correct. I guess I need to subscribe to that bug.
What happens for me is that Octave GUI grays out and then it finally
times out somehow, but then there are no links shown. Restarting it
brings you back to the list of links, but it happens again if you click
the link (
Can you click through some of the links in the help browser to make sure
it all works? We have had reports that the entire Octave GUI may freeze
when trying to follow links in the built-in help browser.

installed? This is the package that Octave uses to display its user
manual (in GNU Texinfo format), both in command-line mode and in the
experimental GUI's help frame.
