The swap partition fails to initialise and causes the boot process to
hang on the server version of 14.04. This error is unrecoverable, on
num-lock and CTRL-ALT-DEL seem to work, no other terminal is accessib
The symptoms you describe (and that are described in the linked forum
discussion) point to a problem with the kernel graphics handling.
