Public bug reported: As reported in several reports such as https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=320423, https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=309193 and https://bugreports.qt- project.org/browse/QTBUG-32908 since Qt 4.5 there is a bug that breaks keyboard shortcuts for all non-US layouts (some or all of them, depending on the diff between the layouts). There's a fix but it didn't yet make it into Ubuntu 14.04.
