Public bug reported:

During installation of available updates, something crashed: I got
Ubuntu's "system program problem detected" popup, though the details
said what crashed was XCode (which wasn't running) and that the problem
could not be reported because it's third party software (then I wonder
why the error reporting option shows up in the first place).

Anyway, after this update manager failed to install some package (and
didn't tell me which one).

Then a "prohibition" symbol appeared in the notification area (note that
this is a wrong icon btw, it is supposed to mean that something is
forbidden, but here it is wrongly used to mean that something went
wrong)

By clicking on it, a mostly-nonsense error message unfolded, reading (extra
rage to the person who coded the error message in such a way that I cannot copy
and paste it, btw):
"An error occurred, please run Package Manager from the right click menu"
WHAT RIGHT CLICK MENU???
"or apt.get in a terminal to see what is wrong"
I RAN APT-GET IN A TERMINAL AND IT DOESN'T SAY A WORD ABOUT WHAT IS WRONG
"The error message was: 'Error: BrokenCount > 0'. This usually means that your
installed packages have unmet dependencies"
That alone, by the way, is not an explanation of what's wrong. The package
manager's and updata manager's job is to install packages and all their
dependencies, so if an installed package has unmet dependencies that is not the
source but the CONSEQUENCE of the error.

So, instead of giving me WRONG instructions of what to do in order to
retrieve information about what went wrong (which I won't get by
following those instructions), it should tell me what the hell was wrong
either in place or provide a clickable button to show it.
