This issue affecting me too, just as others have said here.
I have a new system lubuntu 16.04, and running mythtv.

I can't confirm for sure (long time ago), but I was upgrading from Ubuntu 12.04
LTS (kernel 3.2) and I first bumped into this problem then.
I still see the problem in 16.04, but it does not prevent me from using the
card.

I'm sseing this issue with a HDStar DVB-S2 USB tuner (uses the same
SU3000 board) on xubuntu 16.04.4.

So here we are in October 2017 I have the same issue since upgrade from
14.04 to 16.04 tried Other Ubuntu Variants. All was well before upgrade.
Afterwards Tevii S480 stopped working and it seems it is related to this
bug. The firmware is all there just never gets loaded.
dvb-usb: found a 'TeVii
Confirming this bug in 3.19.0-33-generic, and also with kernels
3.13.0-68-generic and 4.2.0-18-generic under Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS, while
my TeVii S464 worked perfectly under Ubuntu 12.04.
Any solution or workaround would be very welcome.
