one line fix. Worked on my test environment. Looks like the original
developer forgot to put in gtk_widget_destroy (dialog);

This bug is around lines 855-867 and 1016, in the appearance-effects.c
file in the gnome-control-center package. I'll see if i can piece
together a patch, but this is likely to be a very easy fix for a
developer.

Happends on amd64 with the nvidia driver. I believe this is a bug in
the gnome-control-center-package, not desktop-effects.
