I see that, but when one has 600 Ubuntu desktops it means one will get six
hundred
emails, which is definitely not ideal. Perhaps there should be an option in
/etc/default
to change how chatty the script is?

This is the only place we notify users that the software has been
updated, which otherwise happens completely silently. Since these
downloads are done asynchronously with respect to update-manager, it's
important that there be some feedback channel letting the user know
things have changed, /espec
